Mata-ni-Bula pte Ltd have developed a 24V 137Ah (3.3kWh) scalable battery module based on lithium–ion technology. The battery will have built in Battery management system with a user friendly interface that can be customized for market sector requirements. The battery can be scaled to over 1 MW in capacity. Other products will include a 48V version and most recently a 12V 21Ah economy version for small home solar systems

Product Features

The basic design is based on a series – parallel combination of small cylindrical cells. The battery can be serviced by replacing any faulty cells without replacing the entire battery – such as would be necessary with a large capacity prismatic cell, or with the typical lead acid battery – which often exhibits shorted cells towards the end of life. A battery management system is integrated, and provided with RS485, CAN bus or WiFi interface, thus enabling the battery status to be viewed on a smart phone, or commented to a vessel or building energy management system. Interfaces can be customised for larger systems.

The basic modules can be connected in series to give higher voltages , and in parallel to give added capacity. The BMS systems will interconnect to a master unit, thus giving a single point of communication for large battery systems.

The battery systems will be locally serviceable, allowing capacity to be maintained at a lower cost than replacement of the entire battery.
